Recruitment of Alumni Mentors – your chance to bring forward your knowledge and competences and extend your network
SAA offers a new Alumni Mentor concept for E*MBA participants:
As for SIMI, it is the intention for SAA to encourage life long learning. A strong and living network is the breeding ground for the exchange of knowledge, up date of skills and extension of present network. Recent research reveals that “access to building a strong network” is rated as the fourth most important parameter when choosing a supplier of a MBA education. To keep improving the E*MBA product and awareness of SIMI’s many qualities the SAA networking committee is offering an Alumni Mentor concept for E*MBA participants.
The background for the initiative is an identified need among SIMI participants to draw from graduates’ experiences and their network in solving group assignments and by this improve the value of process and the result of the final product.
The goal is to assist the process of building and improving networking across participants and graduates regardless class membership. The stronger the perceived value of networking between SIMI participants and SAA graduates is experienced the stronger likelihood that retention rate among SAA members will improve to mutual benefit to all members.
At this point in time the offer is only directed toward the E*MBA participants however depending on the success extension to Diploma will be considered as well.
SAA networking committee has now opened for recruitment of Alumni Mentors. Latest day for applying will be the 1st March 2007. Recruitment will take place only amongst E*MBA graduates.

The SAA Mentor concept offers mentoring of participants by former graduates who had “been there” in order to enhance quality of assignments. Mentoring was first introduced towards E*MBA participants. However, as by request from SIMI the mentor corps will now be running a pilot project towards the diploma programs this fall. Depending of the outcome, it may turn out to become a permanent offering.
The launch spring 2007 was towards E*MBA class 14th, however scarcely used due to timing of introduction, which was expected from the mentor corps. Besides the pilot project towards diploma participants, next step will introduction of the concept towards class 15th as from January 2008.
At the moment 20 mentors have signed in. Three of those are living out side Denmark, which might be a challenge difficult to overcome, but it is far to soon to conclude.
If you have any interest in becoming a mentor, or should like to take advantage of the offering but havn’t been introduced so far, please do not hesitate to contact me on malene.smidt.hertz@privat.dk
