Progress of the Alumni Associations merger

The official approval of the merger between SIMI and CBS Executive is being delayed in the Ministry of Commerce. It is a matter of details, but until it is finally approved, it does not make sense to make decisions on the future of our association.
However, it would be a natural consequence of the SIMI merger that the two alumni associations – ”SIMI Alumni Association” and ”CBS MBA Alumni Society” – would also merge.
The name, vision and mission of the future merged alumni association is being discussed in forums like LinkedIn and in the respective boards. Nothing is carved in stone yet, so please voice your opinion either on LinkedIn or at the General Assembly on 29 May or by mail to SIMI Alumni office manager (aovergaard@gmail.com).
Here is a short description of a possible merger process from a SIMI Alumni Association perspective:
Some time in September, the Simi Alumni Board invites all SIMI Alumni Association members to an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) in October 2010 with the single purpose to decide to dissolute the existing association by the end of the year and to transfer all assets to a new alumni association.
The dissolution of the Association can be decided if 2/3 of all present E*MBA Alumni vote in favour.
The CBS MBA Alumni society will go through a similar process.
If both alumni associations decide to dissolute themselves, the Boards from the two associations send out an invitation to a founding General Assembly of a new merged alumni association. This invitation could be sent to all Alumni from SIMI and CBS Executive late October 2010 and a General Assembly could be held late November 2010.
A new association could then be founded January 1st 2011.
Yes indeed - an exiting time lies ahead! And your opinion and support is important and will make a difference.
